So, you say, What exactly is an essential oil? “Essential oils are the volatile liquids that are distilled from plants (including their respective parts such as seeds, bark, leaves, stems, roots, flowers, fruit, etc.). (Modern Essentials vol. II, page 9) That’s a pretty dull description for something that has incredible diversity and properties that will amaze you. For example, one drop of dōTERRA Peppermint Oil is a strong as 28 cups of peppermint tea. I use it to calm my baby’s fevers, stop headaches, halt Charlie Horses, cool sunburns, drink it for tummy aches and add it to ice cream, brownies and frosting – and that is just scratching the surface.
Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds that are steam distilled or cold pressed from those various plant parts previously mentioned. They are powerful and safe. They work quickly and are so easy to use. You can use them aromatically, topically and internally – from the newest baby to the longest lived.* Even my kids know what to do, but more on that later.
Bottom line – Essential oils have changed my family for the better. I love the confidence they give me as a wife and mother. I feel like I am better able to care for my family – both physically and emotionally. I love to share the oils because they work and make life so much more enjoyable. So, if you’re still wondering what to do contact me and I’ll be happy to share this gift with you.
*Some persons may experience a sensitivity to certain oils so introduce new oils carefully.
